2023 CHARDONNAY Waasweg+

12.0 vol.% ORIGIN: Waasweg was the old name for this site. Chardonnay is rooted there, which my father – driven by a combination of enthusiasm and market awareness – planted in the Riede a few decades ago. Knowing little about the variety, he nevertheless showed a keen sense for where it would grow best. The site is open to the wind and consequently excellently ventilated, a circumstance of fundamental importance, especially for Burgundy varieties. In conjunction with the relatively high lime content in the loess, the cool winds ensure a harmonious balance, especially during the harvest phase.
